The death toll of the heatwave that hit Egypt, reached 95, after the death of 3 persons on Saturday, , Aswat Masriya reported. In an official statement, the Ministry of Health announced that most of the victims were elderly people who have been suffering from chronic diseases and were affected by the rising temperature of the weather. 206 people across the nation were injured on Saturday, the statement read, adding that patients were transferred to hospitals for medical treatment, highlighting that 129 people were released after receiving treatment. Egypt is currently experiencing a remarkable increase in temperatures that exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in some areas and an increased air humidity ratio. The average maximum temperature in Cairo and Lower Egypt reached Friday 38 degrees Celsius in the shade, while in the southern governorates it reached 43 degrees Celsius, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority. On Saturday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority expected the maximum temperature in Cairo to reach 39 degrees Celsius in the shade and between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius in several areas, south of the country. Forecasts indicate that the heatwave will be at its peak on Sunday and Monday.
