The Egyptian army arrested three terrorists affiliating to Wilayet Sinai extremist group in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city. The military forces launched a wide campaign in the province and seized an ammunition store full of explosives and communication devices used by the militants against the army. The security campaign destroyed three homes, seven huts and four motorcycles owned by the group in North Sinai. Since the ousting of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, the Egyptian army has been fighting the Sinai-based Wilayat Sinai terrorist group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
