Egypt's Ahly flies to Equatorial Guinea to play Cano Sports in CAF Champions League
Published in Ahram Online on 11 - 09 - 2019

Ahly squad flew early on Wednesday to Equatorial Guinea to meet Cano Sport in the capital of Malabo in the first leg of round 32 of the CAF Champions League game on Saturday.
Ahly's new Swiss coach Rene Weiler has called up 25 players to join the travelling squad; including veteran goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy after he recovered from his injury.
Tunisian left-back Maaloul, Moroccan striker Walid Azaro, Angolan winger Geraldo and Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng will join their teammates directly in Equatorial Guinea after ending their commitments with their national teams.
Last month, the eight-time African champions Ahly defeated South Sudanese Atlabara 13-0 on aggregate in the round of 64, while the Guinean side Cano Sport beat Ethiopia's Mekelle 3-2 on aggregate in the same preliminary stage.
The Cairo giants will host Cano Sport in the second-leg match in Egypt two weeks later.
Ahly are eyeing their ninth CAF Champions League title under the new coach Weiler, who took the helm last week.
