Egyptian swimmer Mohamed Samy reached the semi final of the 50m backstroke event of the World Championship in Gwangju on Saturday. Samy booked a place in the semis after finishing seventh in the heats with a time of 24,95 seconds. Also on Saturday, Egypt's Farida Osman didn't start the 50m freestyle event. She probably wants to be ready for the 50m butterfly final to be played later on the same day. Osman qualified for the final on Friday after finishing fifth in the semis with a time of 25.79 seconds.
