Five youth drowned while swimming in the Damietta Governorate's popular beach of Ras El-Barr on the Mediterranean, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported Friday. Rescuers were able to save five other swimmers from near drowning, Ahram reported. Damietta prosecutor ordered a legal probe into the incident, sending a team of investigators to the scene. All five survivors were transported to nearby hospitals.
