Botswana boss admits to Egypt higher quality Botswana's Peter Butler concedes that Egypt is a better side after Friday's loss in Gaborone, but says his team will still fight in the return game in Cairo Wednesday
Botswana manager Peter Butler has conceded that Egypt's national team is of a higher quality compared to his side, but that he will still try to get something from the return match in Cairo. The Pharaohs coasted to a comfortable 2-0 win over Botswana away from home in the 2015 African Cup of Nations' qualifying Group G on Friday night, completely outplaying their African opponents in Gaborone. Butler, a former English midfielder, put down his side's defeat to the difference in quality between the record seven-time African champions and his team, but asserted they will not rest in Cairo's return leg. “They've got better players than us. We will regroup tomorrow (Saturday) for the return leg in Cairo. We will go there and scrap to bring something,” Butler was quoted as saying by Cafonline in a post-match interview. Botswana, who only made a single African Cup of Nations appearance in 2012, look set to miss out on the biennial tournament once again after failing to bag a single point from their first three games. They will have another tough test against Egypt on Wednesday, with Shawky Gharib's men determined to get a win on their homeland to make up for a poor start to their qualifying campaign. Having missed out on the last two CAN editions, Egypt is keen to grab a second win against Botswana after losing two opening matches to Senegal and Tunisia.
