Shaker inaugurates Mahfouz Conference

CAIRO: Dr. Shaker Abdel Hamid, Minister of Culture, will inaugurate a research conference on Naguib Mafouz in cinema and TV Sunday at 6pm.
This conference will be held by the Cinema Committee, headed by Dr. Samir Seif of the Supreme Council for Culture.
Director Tawfik Saleh, director Ali Badrakhan, and director Mosaad Foda will attend. The first day of the conference will host speeches by Hamid, Hashem al-Nahas, and Seif.
Over the four-day conference, talks will cover many topics as they relate to Mahfouz, including metaphysics, acting, and Mahfouz in literature, television, and cinema.
