CAIRO: Tens of demonstrators started to destroy the newly-built wall around the Israeli Embassy in Cairo today. The wall, built by the Egyptian government amid rising anti-Israeli sentiment after Egyptian soldiers were killed by the Israeli military, has received much criticism from Egyptian citizens. Witnesses said a large number of citizens joined the demonstrators after they started to destroy the wall using hummers. They chanted, "In the name of God" and "God is great" and "The people want to remove the wall." The demonstrators managed to destroy three sections of the concrete wall. A large number of demonstrators in Tahrir Square left the square and went to support the demonstrators in front of the Israeli Embassy in Giza. Witnesses said security forces attempted to prevent the demonstrators from destroying the wall, and consequently there were a number of clashes. Demonstrators continued to use hammers to destroy the wall. There had been a number of calls to destroy the wall around the embassy since it was constructed earlier this week. Three people were injured during the first hours of the demonstration. Arabic here
