ARISH, Egypt: Egypt's military has arrested five people in connection with an attack on Arish police station that left four dead and around 19 injured yesterday. Hundreds of armed men besieged the police station in North Sinai yesterday afternoon, allegedly in an attempt to commandeer the building and burn it. The soldiers guarding the station defended themselves and the building, while exchanging fire with the attackers. While the clashes have subsided, the police station has not been reinforced with additional security personnel. Egypt's armed forces arrested four persons suspected in the police station attack. A military source said they also arrested another person after stopping his car and discovering two machine guns.
