The sheikh of Way Alazmih and one of the leaders of the Sufi Reform Front, Mohammed Madey Abul Azim, announced his support of Hamden Sabbahi for president of Egypt. According to a statement from Sabbahi's campaign, Sabbahi viewed the feature of his platform because he wants Egypt to become a developed country in the next eight years. He says that will happen with development plans in political, social and economic fields. Sabbahi welcomed Sufi's participation in public and political life, especially for tomorrow's National Consensus Friday in Cairo's Tahrir Square. He said Sufis are Egyptian citizens who have the right to share and do duty towards the homeland, and that they are important and effective powers. Sabbahi stressed that unity is the main guarantee for completing the aims of Egypt's January 25 Revolution, which succeeded to overthrow the top of the regime but still needs to destroy the tails of the regime and cleanse the country's agencies. Sabbahi emphasized that the next election will be fair, free and democratic. He said the next election will move Egypt from the stage of destroying the old regime to the stage of building a new regime. Sabbahi's statements came during the annual conference for Sufi Cbrawih, which was hold in Shabrawy mosque yesterday under the title of, “Unity among Arab and Islamic peoples.” Many Sufi sheikhs participated in the conference, among them Abul Azeim and the Sheikh of Sile in the Northwest, Tarek al-Refaee. Sabbahi is the head of al-Karama Party.
