Military judiciary will retry al-Zawahiri

The military judicial system has decided to accept the appeal made by Mohamed al-Zawahiri, Al-Qaeda leader and brother to Ayman al-Zawahiri.
He has been sentenced to death for joining the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.
The Military judicial system decided to retry him before the Supreme Military Court.
Mohamed al-Zawahiri was referred to the Supreme Military Court along with others accused of joining Al-Qaeda and attempting acts of terrorism.
Mohamed was released from prison after the January 25 Revolution, but he was detained again when it was found that he had been sentenced to death in absentia in 1998.
His defense decided to make an appeal against the death sentence, especially because of the amendments that have been made to court systems.
