Zamalek stars Shikabala and Ahmed Hassan are urging fans to forgive under-fire striker Amr Zaki following the recent turmoil around his future. Despite resuming training after his infamous wage problem with the board had been resolved, Zaki has yet to regain his stature as fans are far from welcoming his return. The Egypt international was taunted by the Whites' fans in Thursday's league win over Dakhlia as it seems that his threat to leave the club hasn't been forgotten. “I am backing Amr in his case. He was under immense pressure and he had rights but maybe he didn't act in the right manner,” Egypt captain and Zamalek midfielder Hassan told FilGoal.com. “I hope fans would accept his apologies because he's an important member of the team.” In the same manner, star midfielder Shikabala said: “I had a similar problem with the club but then I said I was sorry and returned. Now I hope fans would forgive Amr so that he can be back soon.” Another player who incurred the Zamalek fans' wrath is wing-back Hazem Emam, who almost rescinded his contract to join Saudi Arabia's Faisali last month. Zamalek said on their website that the duo is set to re-join their teammates in full training, with assistant manager Ismail Youssef ‘praising their commitment'.
