Saudi side Ahli are interested in signing Masri's diminutive left-back Ahmed Shedid in the summer, the player's father said on Thursday. "My son received an official offer from Ahli to play there next season," Shedid Qenawi told Egyptian radio. "There is also another club, which is Egyptian but I can not disclose its name, wants to sign him." Shedid has been a key player with Port Said-based club Masri since joining from Egyptian champions Ahli in the summer of 2008. He struggled to play regularly at Ahli after being outshone by the likes of Gilberto and Sayed Moawad but managed to prove his worth at Masri. His darting runs down the left flank helped him score four goals to become Masri's top scorer this season. Shedid could become the third Egyptian to play for Jeddah-based club Ahli after Mohamed Barakat and Walid Soliman.
