Brazilian playmaker Diego shined to score two goals and help Juventus defeat AS Roma 3-1 in the Serie A on Sunday. Diego, who was only making his second league start after joining from Werder Bremen in the close season, opened the scoring midway through the first half in superb fashion. He robbed Roma defender Marco Cassetti, surged towards the area from the halfway line, out-muscled John Arne Riise and slotted home. Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi leveled the score in the 35th minute with a fierce drive. Diego restored the visitors' lead on 68 minutes when he latched onto a through ball inside the area, bamboozled his marker and rifled home. New signing Felipe Melo, who moved to Juventus from Fiorentina, wrapped up the win in stoppage time with a low shot from the edge of the area. The Bianconeri made it two wins out of two, having defeated Chievo 1-0 in their league opener. Roma are yet to claim any points after losing 3-2 to Genoa in their previous game.
