Egyptian striker Emad Meteb is on the verge of leaving Ittihad Jeddah, a Saudi report claimed on Saturday. Al-Medina newspaper said that Ittihad will offload Meteb and Moroccan forward Hicham Aboucherouane to make room for new foreign arrivals. The club recently announced the signing of LDU's Argentinean midfielder Damian Manso, who excelled in the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup. Brazilian striker Wagner, currently at Cruzeiro, is also expected to return to Ittihad, the club he played for in 2007. Following the new signings, Ittihad will have to let go of two foreigners if they are to comply with the Saudi Football Federation regulations. Meteb joined Ittihad from Egyptian champions Ahli on a season-long loan in the summer. His start was promising as he scored seven goals in his first 10 appearances with the Saudi giants. But the 25-year-old suffered a dip in form afterwards. He failed to find the net in Ittihad's last four league games and squandered many clear-cut opportunities. Meteb's recent unconvincing displays will reportedly result in his premature exit from Ittihad.
