Palermo full-back Cristian Zaccardo is expected to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg next season, German magazine Kicker reported on Wednesday. Upon the request of coach Felix Magath, Wolfsburg officials have opened talks with their Palermo counterparts to sign the Italy international. Wolfsburg have agreed a seven million euros deal to acquire the services of Zaccardo, Kicker said. The 26-year-old is set to pen a three-year deal with the Wolves. Zaccardo was part of Italy's 2006 World Cup winning squad. He took part in three matches against Ghana, United States and Ukraine. Wolfsburg, who did not win a major trophy in their history, lie eighth in the Bundesliga table with 45 points.
