Egypt assistant coach Shawki Gharib believes his side's cutting edge was the main factor behind the impressive 4-2 victory over Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations. "We dominated for spells and Cameroon dominated for spells, the difference is that we managed to convert our chances," Gharib told Egyptian TV after the match. CAN debutants Mohamed Zidan and Hosni Abd-Rabou scored two goals each to down Cameroon. A Samuel Eto'o brace was not enough for the Indomitable Lions. "It was very important to kick-off our campaign in such a way against a very powerful team in Africa," Gharib added. The former Egypt youth coach warned against complacency, insisting that there is a long way to go before the five-time African champions can celebrate. "We have to concentrate on our next two games against Sudan and Zambia to progress as Group C winners." Former Egypt coach Mahmoud Al-Gohari, who steered the Pharaohs to CAN triumph in 1998, praised the efforts of the players. "They had five goalscoring opportunities throughout the game and scored four goals," he said after the match.
