Egyptian champions Ahli were named in the list of all-time top clubs in the world for the last 15 years that was announced by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). The Egyptian giants were the only representatives of African and Arab clubs sharing the 143rd place with Brazilian outfit Atletico Paranense in a list that included 191 ranks. The list did not include any club from Asia. The ranking is determined by taking into account the number of points scored by each team in the Top 50 Annual Club World Ranking from the period of January 1st, 1991; the scoring system gives 50 points to the top club descending to 1 point to the 50th place. Ahli collected 18 points after they broke into the Top 50 list for the first time ever in 2006, where they lied in 33rd place. Points are concluded by taking into consideration all the results of the national championships, the national cup competitions, the club competitions of the six continental confederations and FIFA. Spanish giants Barcelona topped the ranking on 670 points in a Top 10 list dominated by European clubs with Argentine icons River Plate as the only exception.
