Ahli defender Ahmed Al-Sayed will be sidelined for two months after breaking a face bone during his side's 3-0 defeat to Ismaili, the Egyptian champions said on Monday. Al-Sayed will undergo an operation later on Monday to fix the broken bone and will need at least an eight-week rehabilitation period. The international center-back collided with the boot of Ismaili's Ahmed Fathi in the 40th minute and was replaced by Tarek Al-Saied. Al-Sayed joins Ahli's injury list that also includes Wael Gomaa and Mohamed Shawki. Ismaili's encounter was just his second game after starting against Zamalek in the Cairo derby last week following a long lay-off. Ahli will play Arab Contractors in the Egyptian League on Thursday.
