We made Henry an offer he can't refuse, says Arsenal president

Arsenal president Peter Hill-Wood confirmed that the club made striker Thierry Henry an impressive offer to extend his contract for another five year.
"I know two things, one, we want him to stay. Two, we have made him an absolutely fantastic offer,” Hill-Wood was quoted as saying in The Daily Star on Thursday.
"I'm not going to say what it is but I know it made me shudder. It's a lot of money. It's for five years. (Manager) Arsene Wenger thinks he's 'physically very capable' of playing for another five years," he added.
The 28-year-old forward, who had been linked with a move to Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, ended all speculations this month after saying that he would like to stay with Arsenal.
Nevertheless, Hill-Wood insisted that he couldn't guarantee whether the former Juventus striker would extend his stay with the club or not.
"If he wants to go to Barcelona, or somewhere, there's absolutely nothing we can do, although someone will have to pay something to get him.
"But we've made him very welcome and we've made him a very good offer which is probably as good an offer as anybody in this country -- maybe other than Chelsea -- would make," Hill-Wood said.
Henry, who became the club's all-time club scorer this season, still has one year and a half to go in his contrat with Arsenal, who will move to their new 60,000-seat stadium next year.
"Thierry says he wants to know if the club is ambitious. We're spending 350 million pounds ($626.4 million) on a new stadium and have just brought in three new players. That is not unambitious."
