CAIRO, June 25,2018 (MENA) - Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said 85 per cent of construction work of the first stage of Phase 4 of Line No. 3 of Cairo Metro was finalised. The first stage will be inaugurated in December, the minister said in a press statement released by his ministry. Arafat toured a number of Metro stations of this section, that runs over an area of 6.35km stretching from Hisham Barakat station on Gesr Al Suez Street then towards Hakstep district and ends at Adly Mansour Transfer Station in El Salam City. It will have five elevated stations. During the tour, the minister called for abiding by the project's set timetable to ease traffic congestion in the densely-populated area. This section of the Metro line is carried out by the Arab Contractors' Company and Orascom Construction, he added. The entire third line will extend over more than 17km and include 15 stations.The Metro line's third phase will include eight underground stations, five elevated stations and two at-grade stations.
