Communications Minister follows up on work of managing inventory, real estate wealth committee
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 12 - 2021

Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, chaired a meeting to follow up on the work of the technical committee for managing the project of inventory and real estate wealth. The meeting reviewed the project's progress over the past months, as well as its top priorities.
During the meeting, the mechanisms for activating the proposed amendments to Law No. 114 of 1946 regarding the regulation of real estate registration were reviewed as soon as they were approved by the House of Representatives.
Talaat stressed the importance of making collaborative efforts to overcome obstacles and support the Ministry of Justice to activate the proposed amendments.
He also stressed the importance of coordinating with partner agencies to implement the project to achieve its objectives. He explained that building a digital system for inventorying real estate wealth by allocating a unified national number for each property will contribute to the governance of procedures for providing services related to real estate to citizens, including property registration services, obtaining licenses, and obtaining facilities. The project will also contribute to registering and preserving properties, and reducing infringements and violations, in addition to its importance in contributing to improving the Egyptian state's ranking in global indicators and attracting foreign investments.
The Technical Committee is one of six committees formed by a decision of the Prime Minister regarding the system of inventory and management of real estate wealth. Through this system, the state seeks to build a unified textual and geographical database with a national number for real estate of all kinds (lands, buildings, units, etc) that allows the inventory and management of real estate wealth to facilitate the procedures for citizens and enable state agencies to have access to real estate data.
The technical committee for managing the real estate wealth inventory and management project is concerned with reviewing and evaluating the current situation, determining the technical and financial needs of the project, developing technical and administrative solutions for the process of building a unified database, coordinating between the participating parties, evaluating the measures taken to maintain the confidentiality of data and mechanisms for its circulation, and setting performance indicators that can be met.
The meeting was attended by a number of representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Finance, Housing and Local Development and other state agencies.
