Ministry of Social Solidarity will restructure its activities in cooperation with the private sector to more consider transparency, accountability, and justice values, Minister Nevine El-Kabbaj said during her participation in the event organised by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), entitled “HR 2020 and Beyond: the power of digital transformation,” on Sunday.
“We are working on developing our services for the people with disabilities in cooperation with the private sector,” El-Kabbaj mentioned, noting that current services provided to the people with disabilities aren't appropriate and the ministry is committed to solve this kind of problems.
About 36 million Egyptians are benefiting from the programmes of the Social Solidarity Ministry, she said, adding that about 14 million of citizens are supported through the conditioned cash subsidies programmes.
The ministry is keen on helping the families that suffer from multi dimension poverty to have decent lives, she added, asserting that women will be in the focus.
Additionally, executive regulations of the new Social Insurance and Pension Law is expected to be issued soon, El-Kabbaj said, noting that the ministry sent the draft regulations of the law to the cabinet on 4 December 2019.
On a different note, the minister said about eight car accidents happened during the past couple of months due to drug addiction, asserting the importance of raising awareness regarding the mental health issues as main reason of drug addiction.
“We have 23 centres to help youth recover from addiction. We are implementing a comprehensive national survey on addiction in Egypt,” the minister mentioned.
Ministry of Social Solidarity launched two programmes recently to raise awareness regarding the negative impacts of drugs addiction, one of them with Misr El-Khair Foundation named Kiam w Hayah or values and life while the other programme named Waie or Awareness, the minister concluded.
