Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese defence company El Shadow Wings to produce advanced defence systems locally, signalling a boost to the country's domestic military manufacturing capabilities. The MoU will leverage the AOI's advanced facilities at its aircraft factory to transfer technology and establish local production lines. AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif said the partnership aims to turn AOI factories into regional hubs for collaboration and expertise exchange, meeting domestic demand and supplying friendly and allied nations. Executives from the Chinese company described the MoU as the beginning of broader cooperation across multiple high-tech defence sectors, praising AOI's leadership in the Arab and African defence markets. The move aligns with Egypt's wider strategy to modernise its military industrial base, expand local production, and deepen partnerships with global defence firms. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
