Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) signed a memorandum of understanding with Emirati-Chinese Al Qalaa Red Flag Group on Monday, aiming to deepen cooperation in defence production and open new investment and export avenues. The agreement was unveiled on the opening day of EDEX 2025, the Cairo-based defence exhibition. AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif described the partnership as a strategic step to strengthen industrial ties with Arab and friendly nations and to establish new production lines across multiple defence sectors. "The MoU reflects our commitment to boosting joint investments, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, and expanding exports to Arab and African countries," Abdel Latif said. He added that the collaboration will extend into other industrial areas, supporting integration in both defence and civilian sectors across the region. Executives from UAE-China Red Flag praised AOI's focus on localising advanced manufacturing technologies and increasing domestic production. They signalled interest in expanding partnerships and opening new export channels across different industries. AOI said its participation in EDEX 2025 highlights the organisation's efforts to leverage regional resources and strengthen industrial cooperation with key partners. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
