Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, held an extensive meeting on Sunday with the heads and members of several export councils to discuss ways to boost Egyptian exports, address sector-specific challenges, and explore potential solutions. During the meeting, El-Khatib asked the councils to submit their vision and plans for export growth through 2030, allowing for practical implementation in line with national strategies. He outlined the ministry's strategy to maximise value-added exports, link investment with trade, protect local products, open new markets, and leverage free trade agreements to enhance Egypt's global competitiveness. El-Khatib also stressed the importance of improving data quality, streamlining export procedures, tackling smuggling, raising product standards, and providing industry-focused education and training. He highlighted the need to increase investments in export sectors, promote industrial complexity, and give equal attention to service exports alongside goods. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
