German industrial group Thyssenkrupp signed on Tuesday a co-operation agreement to rehabilitate, re-operate, and expand two urea and ammonia plants in Egypt, the Egyptian Cabinet announced in a statement. Under the agreement, Thyssenkrupp will work on the rehabilitation of Delta Company for Fertilizers and Chemical Industries – part of Egypt's state-owned Holding Company for Chemical Industries – as well as the re-operation and lifting the capacity of its urea and ammonia plants to a maximum of 1,400 tons/day. Ashraf El Tahan, managing director of Delta Company for Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, has signed the agreement with Thomas Kufahl, CEO of tkIS Egypt, in the presence of Egyptian Public Enterprise Minister Mahmoud Esmat.
