An Egyptian schoolteacher has filed a lawsuit to divorce her husband after 12 years of marriage, accusing him of beating her up for mocking President Mohamed Morsy. The 31-year-old teacher claims her husband, who is 35, repeatedly assaualted her for speaking mockingly about the president, who faces mass protests after his first year in power. The husband, a public servant, beat her on a number of occasions, prompting her to leave the house several times to live with her parents. “I cannot live with him anymore,” she said. “We've been fighting over this for 8 months.” Her husband admitted to the court that she constantly mocks the president in a provocative way.
