The Supreme State Security Prosecution charged Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leader and head of the Relief Committee of the Arab Doctors' Association Gamal Abdel Salam with forming Jihadi groups in Egypt to be affiliated to Hamas. According to the investigations, blogger Mohamed Adel, who made a blog called Mayyet [dead], and a Helwan University student are members of these groups. Adel was arrested months ago and was charged with the same accusations. The three defendants have been sentenced to 15 days in prison pending investigations.
Security bodies arrested Abdel Salam two days ago and referred him to the State Security Prosecution for investigations. Abdel Salam, who was also accused of collecting donations in Egypt without an authorization, denied the accusations, saying that he has been collecting donations for many years for the Doctors Syndicate and that the MB has nothing to do with that.
