The Justice Ministry experts will hold a vigil today before Cabinet against the intransigence of Minister of Justice Mamdouh Marie. They will ask Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif to intervene against Marie, who insists on implementing the decision of the Judiciary Inspection Department that banned them from looking into the case files except within the courts. The experts are expected to suspend the discussions of the cases they already have, organize a sit-in for three days in case the decision is not reversed and demand amending Act 96 of 1952 in order to allow them to give their technical views freely and be at par with the Administrative Prosecution and the State Courts. They will also request total independence to protect the interests of the litigants, and a salary increase with incentives. More than 700 experts from all over the country had gathered before the ministry on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. They held banners asking President Mubarak to solve their problem.
