Cairo - Security forces have dismantled a terrorist cell comprising six elements, including two suicide bombers, who were plotting to attack a church in Alexandria. In a statement released on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said that security information revealed that the six arrested terrorists are involved in committing violent acts and targeting vital institutions and Coptic worshiping places in several governorates. The terrorist cell members were plotting to carry out attacks in coincidence with Egyptians' celebrations of Eidul Fitr and the fourth anniversary of June 30th revolution, with an aim to intimidating citizens, the statement added. This comes as part of the successful proactive security operations to hunt down fugitives and terror elements implicated in the recent attacks in the country, the statement read. The Interior Ministry will proceed with combating terrorism and all forms of crime to maintain the homeland security and stability, the statement noted.
