Suez Canal Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 224 Ships weighing 13.9 million tons transited the canal over the past five days, Youm7 News reported Friday. Mamish pointed out that 103 ships weighing 5.8 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal, while 121 ships weighing 8.1 million tons have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north was the Danish "MAGLEBY MAERSK" container ship, coming from Netherlands heading to Singapore weighing 200 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Maltese "AL DAHNA" container ship weighing also 200 thousand tons.
