The six kidnapped Egyptians in Libya are held by the Libyan authorities in Beni Walid's custody, foreign ministry's spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid announced Sunday, pointing out that Cairo intensifies its contacts to return them to home. "The 6 citizens are safe, and the Egyptian authorities make the necessary measures to return them to home," Abu Zeid said in official statement released on Sunday, renewing the warning against traveling to Libyan territories, due to the unrest it witnesses since the ousting of Guddafi. Unidentified militants kidnapped six Egyptian workers in Libya a week ago, asking for LD 100 thousand in ransom to release them. The workers were kidnapped during their return to Egypt, when militants blocked their way, and escorted them to unknown place between Beni Walid and Misurata. In early 2015, 21 Egyptians were beheaded by the terrorist group, Islamic State (IS).
