The joint observation mission tasked with monitoring the effects of related incidents of violence and terrorism on the 2015 Parliamentary elections, issued Wednesday its report during the period from March 27 to April 2, Al Bawabh newspaper reported. The mission is made of the Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD), the International Institute for Peace, Justice and Human Rights (IIPJHR), and the MAAT Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights. It consists of 2,614 observers (124 international and 2,490 local). The report said that the terrorist attacks that took place in this period coincides the continued work of the committee charged with amending the parliamentary election laws, which confirms that the aim of the attacks is to delay or stop the elections. Furthermore, the report recorded 94 cases of violence in 18 provinces during the week, which reflects a slight increase from past week's 91 cases. It pointed out that North Sinai province is ranked first with 32 incidents of violence from the total 94 incidents, which coincides with the participation of the Egyptian army in the Arab coalition to fight Houthis in Yemen. The report highlighted the relative decline in targeting the citizens, as this week witnessed 21 violent cases, compared to 37 cases last week, which indicates a relative success in securing the citizens' gathering places.
