Cairo Misdemeanor Court ruled on Sunday to reduce the previous sentence against political activist Sanaa Seif and 22 others to two years in prison, and to put them on probation for another two years for violating the protest law. Sanaa and other activists were charged with violating the protest law, rioting, damaging public and private property, possession of weapons , and assaulting security forces during their protest in the surrounding of Itihadiya palace in June 2013. The defendants were previously sentenced to 3 years in prison, 3 years of probation, and to pay 10 thousand EGP.
