The Zar Masters band is comprised of some of the few remaining Egyptian and Sudanese Zar performers playing Tanbura, Toza (small 2 sides percussion) Mangour, (a wide belt of goat hooves worn around the hips), Marakesh (hand-held rattles) and the tambourine.

Tel 02 2576 8086 Third Floor, Townhouse Studios Thurs 2, first performance will start at 4pm and second performance will start at 6pm: “Would you have dinner with me?” is a multisensorial performance inspired by Egyptian and Hungarian kitchen questioning our habits of eating and willingness of sharing food. The performance was created by Hungarian and Egyptian artists and project management by Fanni Nánay, and Narimane Abul-Seoud. The performances are supported by Balassi Institute, Cairo; Townhouse Gallery; Imre Zoltán Programme (IZP) of the Hungarian National Cultural Foundation (NKA); Nassim Al-Raqs Festival, Alexandria; and Placcc Festival, Budapest.
