It is adapted from the famous novel written by Alaa Al-Aswany's novel Chicago and staged by Jean-Louis Martinelli, the play takes us to a little Egyptian society within the University of Chicago. The play denounces the Police State, the collusion between Egyptian and American secret services as well as the use of religion as a tool to manipulate. Martinelli is offering a fluid and clever stage adaptation in a theatrical narrative punctuated by songs. The play explores the intimate world of 9 Egyptian migrants, damaged by the psychological harm done by an emigration resulting from the repressive policy of the Egyptian state (Played in French, subtitled in Arabic).
