Egyptian FA chief questions authorities' hesitation on league fate Egypt's FA president wants security authorities to allow the league to start or explain their decision
Egypt Football Association President Gamal Allam expressed his displeasure over authorities' "fluid situation" regarding the Egyptian Premier League's fate. Sports Minister Taher Abou Zeid announced on Monday that he received a preliminary approval to start the season this month. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) set Tuesday as the date for the competition's draw, but delayed it for an undetermined period after Egyptian security authorities did not give permission. "Egyptian authorities have to decide the competition's fate. If they want to cancel it they have to reveal their decision, "Allam told Ahram Sports on Tuesday. The EFA set 26 December as the future start date, but still depends security approval. The last two seasons of the domestic league were cancelled due to security concerns.
