Zamalek have announced the contract extension of the team's in-form winger Ahmed "Zizo" Sayed for three years that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. The 25-year-old winger Zizo joined Zamalek in the winter transfer window of the 2019 season, coming from Portuguese side Moreirense FC. His form earned him a regular place in the Whites squad during the previous season. "I extended my contract with Zamalek for three years as it is important for me to complete my career with the club," Zizo told Zamalek's Sports TV. "I did my best with the team in the previous season despite the pressure that we suffer from but finally I admire the team and I prefer to continue wearing the Whites jersey," the Zamalek star added. Zizo made 31 appearances with Zamalek while wearing the Whites jersey, scoring five goals and providing five assists. The winger helped Zamalek to win African Confederation Cup title, Egypt Cup, Egyptian Super Cup and African Super Cup trophies. Early last Sunday, Zamalek announced the contract extension of influential defender Mahmoud "El-Wensh" Hamdi for four years to help mitigate the possible departure of Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi. Widespread reports linked Sassi, whose contract with Zamalek had already expired, with a move to the Qatari league, although nothing has been made official yet.
