Egypt's police said on Tuesday that it arrested four people suspected of being involved in killing 12 people in a family feud in the village of Abu Hezam in Upper Egypt's Qena governorate last week. The deadly feud was triggered when a member of one of the families killed a member from the other family in a financial dispute, according to the statement. In retaliation, members of the family of the victim opened fire on a microbus carrying members of the rival family, leaving several dead and wounded, including women and children. According to an official statement, the interior ministry arrested a total of four suspected culprits from both incidents and seized a number of automatic weapons. Revenge killings are common in Upper Egypt.
