TAM gallery presents “Connections”, a solo exhibition by Egyptian artist Ahmed Osman. In a new collection of paintings, Osman aims at examine the concept of a connection with the viewer. “My main goal is to emphasise human connections through a group of works that reflect communication at that hypothetical moment when time stops. Some of these figures are in a deep state of connection, some are going through attempts, others are just hoping. One way or another, I find myself in each composition I create. There may always be a barrier, but attempts never cease.” The artist hopes that viewers will be able to find a reflection of themselves in his work. Osman experiments with various techniques to manipulate raw material into abstract and figurative art works. His body of work is the outcome of his mental projections. He relies on sets of colours in the conviction of their cultural influence through the framework in which we live and belong: Egyptian and African.
The exhibition is on view until 5 March.
