Published in Ahram Online on 22 - 01 - 2020

Egyptian club Ismaily announced on Wednesday the signing of Tunisian striker Fakhreddine Ben Youssef.
"Ben Youssef signed the contract after passing the medical tests," read a short statement on Ismaily's official website. The club did not provide further details about the deal.
"Signing the player was firstly discussed with French tactician Didier Gomes Da Rosa, who welcomed the idea given the player's experience and great scoring abilities," the statement added.
The 28-year old was a free agent after terminating his contract with Saudi club Al-Ittifaq.
Ben Youssef began his professional career with Tunisia's CS Sfaxien, where he played from 2011 to 2015 before moving to French club FC Metz in a short loan stint.
He returned home to join Tunisian giants Esperance in the same year before joining Ittifaq in 2018, where he scored five goals in 27 appearances.
Ben Youssef won the Tunisian league title twice; the first with Sfaxien in the 2012/2013 season and the other with Esperance in the 2016/2017 season.
He also won the African Confederation Cup with Sfaxien in 2013 and Tunisian Cup with Esperance in 2016 .
Ben Youssef, who started his international career in 2011, scored six goals in 47 appearances with Tunisia, including one goal at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
Ismaily currently lie 10th in the Egyptian Premier League table with 18 points from 14 matches, 18 behind leaders Ahly, who still have two games in hand.
