Published in Ahram Online on 13 - 12 - 2019

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has congratulated British Prime Minister Boris Johnson after his Conservative Party secured a big majority in parliamentary elections on Thursday, according to a statement.
Other leaders who have congratulated Johnson on the victory include the US's Donald Trump, European Council President Charles Michel, and others.
Overnight, results from 650 parliamentary constituencies around the UK showed that Johnson's Conservative Party had defeated its main opponent, winning 364 seats to the Labour Party's 203, Reuters reported.
A majority in the House of Commons requires 326 seats.
