A tripartite technical committee compromising delegations from Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia, wrapped up its discussions on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam in Khartoum Thursday. The committee's four-day talks focused on suggestions by the three parties about filling and operating the Ethiopian dam. A report on the outcome of the talks is to be presented to the three countries' water resources and irrigation ministers who are expected to meet in Khartoum on Friday and Saturday. The Ethiopian dam that has been under construction since 2011 is built on the Blue Nile which accounts for about 85 per cent of the Nile waters that reach Egypt.
