Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that Egypt is continuing with efforts to help the Palestinian people restore their legitimate rights and establish their independent state in accordance with the international accords. El-Sisi held a meeting on Sunday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the fringe of the 74th UN General Assembly meetings in New York, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. The meeting tackled the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause. Abbas, for his part, appreciated Egypt's firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause, valuing the Cairo's endeavors to achieve the national reconciliation. The two leaders agreed on maintaining coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern and following up the next steps including efforts to achieve a national unity among the Palestinian factions.
