A stoppage-time goal from Khama Billiat lifted Zimbabwe to the group stage of the African World Cup qualifiers following a 3-1 home win over a plucky Somalia side on Tuesday. Somalia secured a historic 1-0 victory in the first leg of the preliminary round last week -- their first ever victory in a World Cup qualifier -- and were minutes away from sealing a place in the group stage. Marshall Munetsi put Zimbabwe ahead in the 77th minute but Omar Mohamed looked to have put the result beyond doubt when he brought Somalia level five minutes from time. Admiral Muskwe hit back for Zimbabwe one minute later and Billiat delivered the killer blow at the death to break the hearts of Somalia. Elsewhere, Djibouti also advanced to the group stage after holding Eswatini to a 0-0 away draw to go through with a 2-1 aggregate win. Malawi also claimed a 1-0 victory over Botswana to reach the next round after a 0-0 first-leg draw.
