Zimbabwe, who will face Egypt in the African Nations Cup opener on 21 June, held Nigeria to a 0-0 draw in a friendly match at the Stephen Keshi Stadium as part of both sides' preparations for the tournament. Nigeria dominated their hosts during the game but Zimbabwe's defence held firm to keep their illustrious opponents at bay. Last March, Nigeria defeated Egypt 1-0 in Asaba in their first warm-up for the Nations Cup. Zimbabwe were drawn in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, DR Congo and Uganda, while Nigeria will play in Group B along with Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi. The Nations Cup, which has been expanded to 24 teams, will be played in Egypt between 21 June and 19 July. This summer's edition will mark Zimbabwe's fourth appearance in the biennial tournament.
