Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received the National Order of Merit from Ivory Coast on Friday, on his second day in the country. Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara held a luncheon in honour of El-Sisi during his historic visit to Abidjan, El-Sisi's spokesman Bassam Radi said. El-Sisi's visit, which began on Thursday, was the first by an Egyptian president to the West African country. The Ivorian president hailed good relations between his country and Egypt, praising Cairo's prestigious position in the continent, Radi said. El-Sisi lauded the mutual efforts of the two countries to achieve development and integration in Africa, Radi added. The Egyptian president also invited his Ivorian counterpart to visit Cairo. Ivory Coast is the third leg in the Egyptian president's current foreign tour, which has already taken him to Guinea and the United States. The next stop will be enegal.
