Tunisia goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifia stressed on Thursday the importance of Friday's clash between Egypt and Tunisia for both sides, adding that he is confident that Tunisia will perform well in Alexandria. Egypt will host Tunisia at Alexandria's Borg Al-Arab Stadium in the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers on Friday. Both sides have secured their places in the continental competition after clinching the two qualifying tickets of the group. Tunisia are at the top of the Group J with 12 points, three points ahead of second-placed Egypt, who have nine points. "The game will be very important for both sides," Ben Cherifia told the pre-match news conference on Thursday. The 27-year-old, who helped Esperance de Tunis win the CAF Champions League at the expense of Cairo giants Ahly last week, revealed that the Carthage Eagles suffer many absences but he is fully confident that the current squad will realise a good result in Alexandria. "Many important players will miss the game and Friday's clash will see the presence of some young players,” he said. "I am sure that new players will perform well and will be capable of compensating for the absences." Ben Cherifia was between the sticks when Tunisia defeated Egypt in the group opener in June 2017, but he lost his place as Tunisia keeper before being recalled by the Tunisian coach earlier this month.
