Egypt government and parliament to investigate World Cup 'failure'

Newly-appointed Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy has implicitly stated that the ministry will investigate the national football delegation in the 2018 World Cup, echoing the parliamentary Sports Committee that has also opened an investigation.
"We will not let the situation pass so simply, of course" the former Football Association member stated on Facebook Monday evening.
The Egyptian national team, having gained huge support from people, investors, and the government under the guidance of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, failed to secure a single win in their three group stage games, losing 1-0 to Uruguay, 3-1 to hosts Russia and 2-1 to Saudi Arabia.
The Committee described the Pharoah's first appearance in 28 years at the most prestigious of sporting events a “disgraceful representation” and the loss as “humiliating,” accusing the FA of making “serious violations,” in an emotional statement released on Monday .
The statement listed five main points they will investigate after the public outrage, including mutual allegations from FA members of illicit gains, issues with sponsorship deals and a lack transparency in the ticketing system.
They will also investigate embarrassment caused to the team's star Mohamed Salah "which caused British media outrage after his meeting with head of Chechenya Republic Ramzan Kadyrov".
The 26-year-old Salah has ended the best season ever played by an Egyptian footballer collecting all individual titles in the Premier League after scoring 44 goals with Liverpool.
